Goodbye from Discovery Summer 2017

Workshops!

After lunch the students went back to their classrooms to continue working on the workshop projects they had started the day before.

This week there are five different workshops and unlike with regular lessons, all levels are mixed and students work together to create something beautiful, fun or interesting to share with their fellow students during the presentations on Thursday.

In the workshop What We've Got in Common  students learn about differences and similarities when it comes to each other's cultures. Agi helps them as they uncover facts about each other.

Bryan helps his students create a Photo Story. In the days leading up the workshop, Bryan took some photos of students during various activities and now students put these photos together, add text and tell a fun story!

A very popular workshop has always been Big Heads! Using chicken wire and paper mache students create a very big head they can place over their own like a mask. Today was a glue day as Alix helped her students get the newspapers around the wire.

Basia's classroom is transformed into a Lonely Planet's office as her students set about discovering as much as they can about specific countries and putting it into together so they can share it with their peers.

And finally, in Edinburgh students try their hand at Comic Writing  as they practice their drawing and writing skills before trying to write their very own original comic.

It was a long, lesson-filled day for students but it was very rewarding as the students created many beautiful things and spent a lot of time talking to each other, having fun, making new friends and practicing their English! What more could we ask for?
