Goodbye from Discovery Summer 2017

Uppingham Heritage Trail

Today some of the students followed the Uppingham heritage trail to learn more about the village they are staying in.

They weren't just introduced to various beautiful English sites, they also got a good idea of what English weather is often like.

The people at the church were very kind and let us take shelter from the rain.

Inside students drew the interior and learned some new words like pew and stained glass window.

Even AL Fraser got involved with the drawing.

Some of the amazing results:

There was a strange group of people following us wherever we went but they seemed harmless.

It was a very nice church and the first one any of us had seen that had a kitchen inside the church!

Once the rain had stopped a little we continued our journey.

Don't let Danil's face fool you: he had a great time!

Student Host Izzy leading the students to the first Uppingham Grammar school.

A graveyard next to Beast Hill, which sounds more exciting than it was. It's simply where they brought the cattle along on the way to the market.

All in all, it was a great walk that led to the beautiful school the students are studying at now!
