Goodbye from Discovery Summer 2017

Barbecue Tea in Samworth's Garden

Saturday is barbecue night in Uppingham and this evening, the lawns of Samworth's garden were bathed in glorious midsummer sunshine.
It is one of the favourite meals for all the students with sausages, burgers, salads and of course, the obligatory ice-cream for dessert.
And after eating their fill with sumptuous scram, there is plenty of time for fun and laughter around the gardens.
New friendships are such an important part of summers with Discovery here at Uppingham.
And with students from all corners of the world coming together to share the joys of learning and improving their English skills, the joy and warmth is something that words don't always do justice to.
The fun and laughter that is captured in these photographs gives you some idea of how much joy there is throughout our courses.
And this is hugely facilitated by amazing Student Hosts as well as enthusiastic Group Leaders and our wonderful, experienced team of teachers and activity leaders
Our Student Hosts play an important role in supporting students and helping them to integrate with other students who may have arrived earlier in the summer and they are a welcoming face to all who come through our doors.
But it is the spirit of adventure; a hunger to make friends; and a drive to learn English that helps our students work together to create such special memories of their summer here in Uppingham.
