DRAMA WORKSHOP IN ACTION
Eight DS students (Phai, Kate, Ilya, Alexey, Alexander, Alena, Nastya and Tui) joined a 2-week drama workshop run by Aggie to delve into the theatre arts and develop their artistic skills. They learnt how to step into various characters, made up their own scenarios and acted them out. The participants got to explore drama through story-telling and next they had their stories recorded using photographs. Not only did this experience teach them about the acting process but it also helped them boost their confidence, express their emotions and have more body awareness.
Below you can see how they let their imagination run wild during one of the sessions taking
place on the school lawn. They were creating some tableaux, 'frozen pictures',
for the story about the Cave Dwellers.

Two Cave Women doing 'a dance of joy'
A Caveman (Alexander) fighting with a two-headed beast (Ilya & Alexey)
A Cavewoman (Kate) putting her foot in the fire.
The Caveman getting really feracious as he drives the beast away!
Can you see this fearful look in the beast's eyes?
The prey (Nastya) is hunted, now it needs to be dragged to the cave.
Two cavemen warming up by the fire.
Two cave dwellers caught by surprise ;)
The beast in the making...
The students are now getting ready to start reharsing their play titled 'Discovery Summer Parody' which they wrote all by themselves! We can't wait to see them next Thursday!!!
