Students in Maths have carried out 2 projects so far and currently working on their third. The first was to make a scale model and drawings of some of the buildings within Uppingham School. This involved using tape measures and clinometers. Our home made clinometer allowed us to calculate heights by using the tan function on the calculator. tan θ = opp/adj where θ is the angle.
All three classes produced some excellent models and drawings. The ratio (scale) they used was appropriate and their models accurate.
