Goodbye from Discovery Summer 2017

Arts@Uppingham

As you can see from the pictures below, our students have plenty of opportunities to explore their artistic sides. These creations are from a selection of artistic workshops, lessons, clubs and EMA activities.
This painting of a lakeside landscape was done by Maria in our Landscapes Workshop in Week 2. Maria left us yesterday after a great two weeks and we hope she is following us from home!

Pollack art is produced by spreading paint in seemingly random patterns on a paper of canvas medium. Here one of our visitors from Shrewsbury can be seen spreading some green paint on paper in an art Club for our Friday Activities sessions.

The activities take place regularly in afternoon slots and our Pre-Boarding Students join in the activities once they have finished their program of academic sessions on those days.
The sunny weather and warm temperatures make outdoor art classes an ideal opportunity to enjoy the splendid lawns and grounds of Uppingham School.
The bright vibrant almost fluorescent colours highlighted by the bright sunshine.
Art is also the theme for some of our evening activities as you will remember from the incredibly well out together creative collages from Art Attack earlier in the course.

We haven't seen a lot of rain this year...

Tony dreaming of another wonderful Discovery Summer in 2016!

Our Blue Lion's using their name as inspiration.

This red phone box is likely to be flooded if it actually rains like that!

Yellow Dragons actually got to see some old red Routemaster Double-Decker Buses in London last week.

And the Yellow Lions used their artwork as a chance to advertise Discovery Summer to anyone who sees this masterpiece.
