Goodbye from Discovery Summer 2017

Student Host Blog Takeover

One of our Student Hosts, Daisy, wrote a blog post for her Discovery Plus class so we could get an inside look at at what they're up to this week - thanks Daisy!

Our Discovery Plus students have been enjoying both an exciting, yet a little messy week so far!

The students explored both the Mercator Projection Map and the Peters Projection Map and identifying the problems found in each of them. This provoked a lot of stimulating and interesting discussion amongst the students.

Students worked in pairs to peel an orange to try and create a flat map of the world, which helped the students to acknowledge the difference between a globe and flat maps.
