Goodbye from Discovery Summer 2017

Student Diaries

As part of the English and Multi-Activity course, the students are asked to keep a diary of their stay here in Uppingham. This helps them to work on their written English as well as keeping a record of everything that they do whilst they are here.

Below are two diary entries from two of our students who left last Friday. A big hello to Benjamin and Ellen....We hope you are enjoying the rest of your summer!!

Benjamin:

Yesterday I went to Rutland Water to do canoeing.
There is a very big lake. I did canoeing with my friends.
In the canoe there were four persons.
It was very funny because the water was very cold. But we wore swim (wet) suits.
My fingers were freezing.

Ellen:

Yesterday I came with a group of students to the lake Rutland Water.
There we went to the canoes with swim (wet) suits which they gave us.
We split up into groups of four, three or two.

They explained to us how we should canoe.
Everyone had fun.
A lot of people fell out of their canoe and flew through the air into the lake.
The water was really cold.
After an hour we changed our clothes and a lot of the students bought sweets, chips or other things. They ate them on the way to the bus.
