Goodbye from Discovery Summer 2017

Art Attack

Last night saw a brand new event being staged in Uppingham for the very first time! Art Attack is a game that involves each group of students battling it out using their creative skills and loads of junk, to create an artistic piece of floor art based on the theme of "Britain 2014".

The teams were given one hour to come up with their idea and put it together before being interviewed on camera to explain that they have created and how they worked as a team to put their masterpiece together.

Here is a short video showing how they worked and photo's of their masterpieces are underneath!

As you can see, everyone got stuck in and had a a great time, developing their creative ideas as well as communicating with their team members using some of the English skills they have developed over the last few weeks.

Enjoy!

The Union Jack featured in several of the masterpieces.

A very busy team crafting a traditional English 'pot of tea'.

The London Eye was a prominent feature for several groups.

A plate of 'fish 'n' chips was also a common feature
Joel striking a 'dessert spoon' pose with his groups plate of 'fish 'n' chips.

This piece depicts several London features including Big Ben.

The famous Red Buses of London were also adopted by several groups

And you couldn't have a piece of art focussed on Britain, without rain and umbrellas as modelled by Vanessa.

English 'High Tea' was an original idea from the Black Team

The London Buses, Olympic Rings.....

And Big Ben!

Everyone had a great evening and we have some great photos to show for it!
